My way to connect with friends and family, thank them for all their support, and keep them up to date on my fight against cancer. Of course, I'll toss in my thoughts on everything else ;)

Good news!
Just got home from the clinic. I'm happy to say that the Vidaza seems to be working already! My neutrophils and platelets are back to normal and my red blood count only went down a bit since last week even though I haven't had a transfusion for almost two weeks. Of course, no one knows if the drug will continue working or for how long, but so far, so good. As my good friend Amy Joy Lanou always says, "Happy Day."
I'm a writer, animal lover, nature freak, and longtime activist dealing with her third bout of cancer. This time it's leukemia. It's a long story but the leukemia originated with my breast cancer treatment in '03. Despite my bad luck with chemo, I'm trying it again (a different type), hoping it will slow the progression of my current disease. But I'm also looking into alternative treatments. Any suggestions?
